Move at Work, Rebalance at Home

Ever considered placing things strategically at work so that you are required to move more?

Organising your workspace to move more is a great way to naturally boost your energy, spark your creativity and improve your overall health.

Did you know at the end of the day, giving yourself time to breathe for just 3 minutes can help you release the stress from your day and relax naturally?

Exercising in the evening is a great way to rebalance your mood, thoughts and body from the hustle and bustle of the day.

Move at Work, Rebalance at Home

At work, design your workspace into a multi-level workout platform. Deliberately placing items out of easy reach encourages better posture, stronger core muscles, greater flexibility and reduces muscle fatigue.

Here’s your simple guide to setting up your workspace for optimal health, movement and productivity. Hope you’ll feel physically and mentally fresh and allow your work to flow easier:

  • Reach across – to give your arms and body a side stretch
  • Up high – Stand to lengthen your back
  • Down low – Bend down to strengthen your abs
  • Out of reach – Get up to boost your circulation and awaken your muscles
  • Stand and talk – Stand to shift your posture and decompress your spine

At home, what’s better to relax and unwind your day than a short evening yoga?

Practise this simple yoga sequence in the evening and prepare your body and mind for a restful sleep. It helps you slow down, focus inward and let go of everything that happened that day. (No alcohol required!)

  • Bonus 1 – You’ll release tension
  • Throughout the day your body builds up tension and stores negative emotions and stress. Evening yoga helps to rehydrate the disks of the spine through stretching and twisting and to soften muscles stiffness as you breathe deeply.

  • Bonus 2 – You’ll end the night feeling calm and soothed
  • Excitement and focused determination feel great during the day but may keep your body too awake or alert for sleep. Practising yoga in the evening promotes relaxation and restfulness.

  • Bonus 3 – You’ll have a restful night’s sleep
  • Focus on your breathing and exhale for twice as long as you inhale to take you deep into relaxation mode. Just this simple step really improves your sleep quality and duration.
